Welcome! I am a translator, poet, scholar, and teacher. Originally from south-central Wisconsin, I currently teach literature and writing at Marquette University in Milwaukee.

Throughout this site you can find my work in professional and creative capacities. While my research dwells in the medieval period, I teach literature up through the present day and publish my own verse and Modern English translations from Old English, Middle English, Latin, Modern French, and Old Norse. I am most interested in the contemplative and monastic traditions of western culture and how these relate to similar traditions throughout the world, as well as the natural world around us and how we humans fit into it.

I am eager to share my passions through formal presentations and informal talks and readings, and I’ve been known to lead meditation groups and retreats from time to time, so please reach out if you or your group have shared interests. I look forward to connecting!
